Pregnancy (gestation) is the condition when a woman carries a fetus in the uterus (single or multiple), generally for 38-40 weeks until birth. Pregnancy is achieved through natural ways (having unprotected sex) or artificial ways (medical intervention). Early symptoms can include a missed menstrual cycle, nausea, hunger with weigh gain, and frequent urination. Pregnancy is usually referred to in 3 parts - the first, second and third trimesters. Prenatal care, which is practicing good health and eating habits during pregnancy, is a vital part of each trimester and helps assure a healthy outcome for both mother and baby.
